Neya's note

This playground really took me by surprise! Honestly, this has been one of my favorite playgrounds we've visited so far.

★ MomHop's take

Why it's good. Polliwog Park has two playgrounds. The lower one: big, really well kept, right by the lake, with a large separate gated toddler area. Then, just over a mile away, the Roundhouse Aquarium sits at the end of Manhattan Beach Pier, where the kids can see local marine life and there's a touch tank. Pair it with the pier and beach, and it makes such an easy Manhattan Beach day.

Know before you go. The upper playground is nice too, but not shaded. The aquarium is small - plan around 15-30 minutes. If you have a toddler, bring the stroller: the aquarium is all the way at the end of the pier.
